8 Extension Permissions

ContactOut Collector requests only the minimum permissions necessary for its core functionality. Each permission and its purpose is detailed below:

Permission Purpose
activeTab Required to send messages between the popup interface and the content script running on the active ContactOut tab, enabling the user to start/stop contact collection from the popup UI.
storage Used to persist collected contacts, the collection state (started/stopped), and the user's selected mode (Simple/Advanced) across browser sessions so data is not lost when the popup closes.
downloads Used to save the collected contacts as a CSV file to the user's computer when they click the Download CSV button in the popup.
Host: contactout.com The content script runs only on contactout.com to read visible contact information (names, emails, job titles) from the page DOM. No data is sent to any external server.

We do not request or use permissions beyond what is required for the product's existing functionality. If an update requires new permissions, you will be explicitly prompted by Chrome to accept them.
